Do you mind if I ask you about Morgan?

No, we do not mind! Please don’t think you will offend us. We are very open about sharing our journey and certainly understand curiosity.

What is Morgan’s life expectancy?

We do not know. We do know we must be careful with her exposure to germs due to a weak immune system. If Morgan gets sick, then she stays sick much longer than a typical child. Also, due to her weak muscle tone and inability to walk or move around, she is at a high risk for developing pneumonia.

How do you handle having a special needs child?

It is truly by the Grace of God that we get through each day. I know many people look at us and think wow, I would never want to deal with all they have. And true, it is very different than having a healthy, typical child, but our life is so very rich, and we have been so blessed by all the wonderful people we have met during this journey with Morgan.

Was your pregnancy with Carter complicated?

No. Leslie’s pregnancy with Carter was great! She felt great and worked the whole time. Carter was born 2 weeks early by c-section and he weighed 8 lbs, 15 oz.

Is your son Carter healthy?

Yes! Praise the Lord! Carter is smart as a whip and the most loving big brother ever. He developed normally as a baby and grew like a weed! He is extremely tall like his parents.

Does Carter know Morgan is different?

We have tried to explain that God made Morgan differently and each child is unique. We explain to him how God chose us to be Morgan’s family and to love her no matter what.

Will you have any more children?

No, we will not be having any more biological children. We might adopt one day.

Why are the bracelets and magnets sage green?

We chose this color because we wanted a color that was calming and the official colors of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation are yellow and green.  We also wanted a color that a man or woman would be proud to display!

Can I order the bracelet in a smaller size than the 8” adult size?

We are working on it. The minimum order from the manufacturer is 500 per bracelet size. We need to justify ordering 500 youth sizes! If we receive enough demand for the youth size then yes, we will provide the option.
